After the video, ask the participants the following questions: -If he was so famous and successful, why did he become addicted to substance abuse? -What was he addicted to? -What was Robin Williams' motivation to withdraw from drugs all by himself? -Did he try to go to rehabilitation? According to Williams, what is the first step to start a rehab process? Discuss why is it that so many famous individuals, as well as regular folks, become substance abuse victims? Is it important to seek support when an individual is addicted? Why? As a culminating activity you can ask participants if they know of an agency that offers support to those who are seeking assistance with substance abuse addiction. Have participants share what they know and write on board if they can provide specific names of organizations. Be prepared to offer names and telephones numbers from a couple of agencies in case the participants do not volunteer specific information |
